The National Primary Health Care Development Agency says it has commenced guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination registration online.
The NPHCDA Executive Director, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this on Monday, NPHCDA, via a series of tweets on its verified Twitter handle.
He directed members of the public to “Please visit the website http://nphcda.gov.ng and click on ‘COVID-19 Vaccination e-registration’ to register for #COVID-19 vaccination.
The agency noted that the registration platform will capture the candidate’s data and schedule him/her for COVID 19 vaccination.
This means that the individual doing self-registration must fill in requisite information on the electronic form.
Candidates for COVID-19 vaccination have the privilege of choosing their preferred vaccination date and time slot, complete with a photo update.
Anyone who successfully completes the e-registration will receive a message stating: “Registration Completed!… Your Vaccination ID is:
“Your data is successfully received.
“Thank you for taking the time to fill the form, you will receive an SMS and email shortly containing your Vaccination No. and other instructions.”
In another tweet, Shuaib stated that the proposed vaccine delivery would mark the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines in the country and make Nigeria the next West African country to benefit from the COVAX Facility after Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire.
“In the first phase of the vaccination, health care workers, frontline workers — (the military, police, oil and gas workers, Nigerians at the border posts), and strategic leaders, etc., will be prioritised,” it said.
He was also optimistic that the first batch of AstraZeneca vaccines would arrive in Nigeria from the COVAX Facility in less than 24 hours from where it would be deployed for vaccination of frontline health care workers, who are providing essential care.
