The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Sunday reported that 47 patients have been discharged after recovery from COVID-19 at different treatment centres across the country.
This is just as the agency announced 37 fresh infections, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 165,419.
The news was disclosed on NCDC official Twitter handle on Sunday.
According to the agency, the 37 new infections came with no recorded COVID-19-related death in six states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Of the new cases, Yobe recorded the highest number of the novel coronavirus infections – with 13, followed by Lagos with 12 and Akwa-Ibom with 6 infections, while FCT, Edo, Kaduna and Ogun reported one, one, one and one respectively.
“The day’s report included a corrected computational error that occurred during the week,” it stated.
The agency’s latest statistics revealed that 165,419 cases of the virus have so far been confirmed while 156,297 patients who earlier tested positive have discharged.
The number of fatalities recorded in 36 states and the FCT stands at 2,065.
The NCDC also disclosed that since the outbreak of the pandemic broke out in February 2020, Nigeria has carried out 1,939,165 million tests in the 36 states and the FCT.
The agency added that a multi-sectoral national emergency operation centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
