The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Tuesday disclosed that the country has consistently not recorded any coronavirus fatality in the space of one week.
This is just as the agency announced that 34 fresh cases of COVID-19 were registered in three states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement was made known via the official NCDC Twitter page on Tuesday.
The States affected by the 34 new cases were Enugu (19), Lagos (13), Kaduna (1) and FCT (1).
While confirming that no COVID-19 death
was recorded in seven days, the agency disclosed that the current death toll stands at 2,063.
It further disclosed that the Tuesday report has data from Enugu State recorded between April 28 and May, 3.
The NCDC reported that there was no recorded case of recovery from isolation centres across the country as of May 4, noting that the total number of recoveries, as announced by NCDC, still remained at 155,371.
The agency also revealed that said that 165,215 cases have so far been confirmed with 155,371 patients discharged and 2,063 deaths in the 36 states and the FCT since the pandemic broke out in the country in February 2020.
